Hampstead, North Carolina is one of my favorite hidden gems for family sessions — full of color, character, and local spots that make photos feel truly personal.

In mid-fall, Ash’s Japanese Maple Nursery transforms into a sea of golds, reds, and oranges — a stunning, short-lived backdrop perfect for artful family portraits. I also love Carol Sue Farms, where kids can pick blueberries or strawberries while I capture the joy of it all — storytelling sessions at their sweetest.

And Pender Pines Garden Center is always a hit with families — filled with lush greenery, a koi pond, colorful birds, and even a few friendly animals out back. It’s a little bit of everything that makes Hampstead feel special.
