My name is Erika Rigger! I'm a local Hampstead maternity, family and newborn photographer and most importantly, mom to two silly and totally wild boys, ages 4 and 8.
I am so excited to be doing school pictures at Wilmington Preschool of the Arts!
School picture days will be Sept 20 & 21 to accommodate all students schedules. See below for FAQs, tips, how ordering works, and what day your child is scheduled to be photographed. I'm so excited to capture all the kids adorable faces! Believe me, you're going to love these unique portraits of your children.
What makes this photography unique?
My goal during my short time with your child is not to force a cheesy smile. I’m looking for natural expressions, which will range from serious and pensive to sweet and silly. I will chat and interact with your child during our time together to elicit genuine expressions. For an extra fun time, have your child come prepared with a joke for ME! For photos that reflect the uniqueness of the school and it’s students, I’ll be photographing against a simple black backdrop–a technique I use to be sure your child's personality really shines through in the photos!
What should my child wear?
• Avoid hoodies and shirts/tops with large illustrations, cartoon characters, or large logos on them.
• Bright colors, yes! Neon colors, no. Neon colors tend to reflect poorly onto the skin.
• Collared shirts, dresses/tops with pretty detail in the neck or shoulder area look great!
When can I expect to see the photos?
About 3 weeks after your child's picture day you’ll receive an announcement flyer when picking up your child from school. You may also receive communication directly from WPA. The flyer will announce that the photo gallery is ready to be viewed, where to view it online and the ordering deadline date.
How does ordering work?
The online gallery will be open for 7 days for viewing and ordering. Everything is viewed, ordered, and paid online, so there are no paper order forms to keep up with. You will have the option to purchase prints, canvases, and digital images with printing rights. You will have 3-5 images in both color and black and white to select from. From the gallery you can view the images and place orders online. Payment is handled directly through the viewing gallery. Print packages are $45 and digital files start at $55.
“Add-on” (a la carte) prints can be added to any package, digital file or canvas wrap order. You may also make your own package using the A La Carte items ($40 minimum). Digital orders are delivered via email immediately after payment clears. Print orders are delivered to your school for distribution within 2-3 weeks of the ordering deadline. Shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions!
Can I share the gallery with family?
Grandparents and other relatives may also place orders through the gallery!
Please note, all print orders are delivered to your school for distribution unless “ship to me” is chosen. If you’d like orders shipped to you or someone else, please choose “ship to me” and be sure the shipping address is in the “notes to studio” section.
A standard flat rate shipping charge will be added if you select to have your prints shipped. This makes it very convenient for non-local family to order prints and have them shipped to them, as well as you to purchase prints and have them shipped to non-local family. Digital orders are delivered via email immediately after payment clears.
What is the quality of the prints?
Your photographs will be printed on the highest quality photographic paper and are finished with a lustre coating to protect them from aging, fingerprints and uv exposure.
One last thing . . .
Your child’s privacy is important to me! I occasionally like to post a sneak peek on social media from my photo day at a particular school or add new kids’ photos to my website and marketing materials. If you would be willing to give me permission to include your child’s photo (never any names) for these purposes, please complete the following release form. Thank you so much!
