I was lucky enough to be invited into this gorgeous Wrightsville Beach condo to photograph baby Michael in these in-home candid family portraits. Some of my favorite sessions involve families like this one. I get to help them hang onto the memories that they are creating already, every day. This setting was something spectacular – from the nursery backdrop to the Intracoastal waterway – but Michael was the star of the show. His long brown hair and big eyes are enough to steal anyone’s heart! These in-home Wrightsville Beach candid family portraits came out so beautifully and really did the job of capturing the moment.
In-Home Candid Portraits
In-home family portrait shoots are truly something special. I get to capture the family as they are, in their space, where they are comfortable. It is easy to see by the smile on his mother’s face that Michael wasn’t phased at all by the camera. And why should he be, when he got to spend his day doing all of his favorite activities? There is nothing like kicking back to relax with your dad and your favorite book (while I snapped a few shots, of course).
From In-Home to Outdoors
The Intracoastal waterway right outside gave a great change of scenery. The misty feel of the water gave Michael’s striped jumpsuit all the room it needed to shine. No need to travel far when the landscape is so scenic right out the back door. Plus, this gave Michael and his mom every excuse to enjoy some bare feet in the grass. Still, we focused on the moments that make in-home candid family portraits so special. It is a beautiful thing to be able to freeze these memories in time. These parents exude nothing but love for their son. It was quite simple to catch the honest moments that might have otherwise slipped by.
Later, I attended Michael’s baptism brunch and was lucky enough to capture those memories as well. I cannot get enough of this spunky little guy. I was absolutely ecstatic to be able to shoot with this family again.
