Summer may be winding down, but it’s still very hot outside! For some, school may have already started and for others it may be starting within the next week or two. Regardless, the temperatures are still hitting the 90’s at least for the next few weeks, the pools are still open, and there is still time to catch the last bit of summer fun. To commemorate the end of summer with a fun and creative activity the kids will enjoy, here is a summer fun photo activity!
Summer Fun Photo Activity
Keeping your kids active and engaged in a creative activity doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Sometimes, all it takes is a creative twist on a routine activity–going to the beach or the pool may become routine to them after a long summer. One great idea is to purchase disposable underwater cameras for your children and take them to the pool. You can find these cameras online for as cheap as $7. Here is the camera I used. You can have your children share one camera, each getting to take a certain number of fun underwater shots, or get them each one.
Encourage your children to take creative photos and pose underwater for each other. This is also a great activity to build confidence for swimmers who aren’t so sure about putting their head under the water. You’d be amazed how brave they can be when they’re trying to capture the perfect underwater photo.
Once you’ve used up all the exposures on your disposable underwater cameras, request a mailer at Mpix.com and send them in. They will develop your film and send you a link to a gallery where you can purchase prints. Have fun reviewing the photos with your kids and choosing which ones to print. Order your prints and have them fill up a small album to commemorate the summer. You can go wild and do some fun scrapbooking with them too!
