This family of 7 chose a secret location for their photo session. I had always wanted to shoot an ICW waterfront so this was a real treat for me! We rode over to the location in their golf cart!

Large families can be challenging, especially this one since the kids have a wide range of ages between them. It was a great learning experience for me but also they made it pretty easy! We all enjoyed the sunset there and even the more quiet kids warmed up to the camera pretty quickly.

Hampstead NC Simple Newborn Photography | Baby L

This was a new experience for me. I had photographed newborns before, but this time I was trying a more natural and simple newborn photography style. No props, no hats or baskets or bright colored backgrounds. I wanted to really capture the purity of a newborn with a clean white background and some neutral colored wraps. In the beginning of the session baby L wasn’t in the mood to sleep so I took some of her bonding with mom and some closeups of her face, hands and tiny feet. Once she was asleep we got some sweet shots of her dreaming away.

Hampstead NC Backyard Family Photo Session | The B Family

After nearly 4 months of having arrived in North Carolina, we have finally settled into our new home here in Hampstead! It took me a bit to get back into my sessions, but now that I’m back it feels great! Lucky for me, I’ve been meeting lots of amazing moms that hang out at Hullabaloo. It feels great to have made a few friends already. I firmly believe us moms need a good support network of friends. They don’t say “It takes a village…” for nothing!

I met Angie at Hullabaloo and she and I both couldn’t wait for her backyard session. When I arrived I was even more excited to see they had a trampoline! These kids are so lucky! I would have died for one of these as a kid! Well, it was my lucky day because I got to take pictures of these cute kiddos jumping around the trampoline. Shooting as I bounce around and hope for the best was a first for me, but I got some good ones. Luckily, we also took some pictures on firm ground.
