So you’ve successfully booked your session, but now you’re faced with the challenge of coordinating everyone’s wardrobe. But I’ve got some good news! It’s easy to style your fall family photo session! Despite popular belief, planning for your session doesn’t have to be difficult. Here are some tips for you and your family.
Check out these 5 ways to style your fall family photo session!
Chose two main colors to plan your color scheme around
The best fall family sessions come with a well-coordinated color scheme! But it’s not as hard as it seems. You don’t have to be a stylist to get your family looking good for photos. Simply choose two colors or hues that you love and plan your outfits around them. Some popular fall color choices are reds and oranges, Tan and Ivory, or even navy and yellow! Feel free to get creative and make the most of your fall family session.
Layer it up!
Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year. Cold weather means you get to bundle up and layers are the perfect way to stay warm and add some flair to your photo session! Don’t stop at a simple cardigan to keep you warm, add a stylish scarf to add some fun to your outfit. Guys can also add a nice sweater or jacket to their look for a cozy feel.
Don’t forget to accessorize!
Spice up your fall family session with accessories for the entire family! You can add special touches like burlap suspenders or a flowery headband for the kids. Add a lovely necklace for mom and a nice tie for dad to help add a pop of color to your photos. The possibilities are endless and the more creative you get, the more unique your family photos will be. Choose accessories that highlight your family’s personality!
Choose outfits that you are comfortable in
One of the most important things for any session is your family’s comfort. If you or your family is uncomfortable in the outfits they’re in, you can almost always tell in the photos. For this reason, I usually recommend using outfits you’ve worn before!
